Ladies on the red carpet

Poor ANNE HATHAWAY was overshadowed by the JAKE GYLLENHAAL, HEATH LEDGER, and MICHELLE WILLIAMS that hardly anyone knew she was even in "BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN." I guess she just couldn't take going unnoticed, because she decided to dress-up as the The Joker tonight. This picture actually hides the fact that when she appeared on E! she was looking clown-faced. That red lipstick was just too much.SCARLETT JOHANSSON usually doesn't skip a beat on the red carpet, but tonight I must say I was a little disappointed. The hair, makeup and dress all add up to me being underwhelmed. While she does look great, she really didn't look as stunning as we are accustomed to seeing her. Her boobies do get mad props.

LAURA LINNEY shows how red should be worn! While she may not be a young starlett like SCARLETT, she definitely shows that she definitely has the body and beauty to outdo her on the red carpet.

NATALIE PORTMAN looks her usual elegant and cute self. She's still growing her hair back after going bald for her new movie "V FOR VENDETTA." She was a breath of fresh hair (I know how corny) on the red carpet. Her short 'do stood out amongst the flowing curls and updos of the night.

RENEE ZELWEGER gave some great leg action with that dress. You might call this dress plain, but I think she makes it work.
Here JESSICA ALBA poses confidently in her lovely gown. She displays a more natural look that most of the women, with the exception of ANNE HATHAWAY, seemed to adopt. She wasn't nominated, but she sure looks like a winner!
KATE BECKINSALE --The dramatic eye makeup + fabulous earrings = beautiful. I not so sure about the nude colored lining that was on the side of her top, because in this picture it makes her look like she has wrinkly underarms. Other than that, perfect!

ELLEN POMPEO shows us the lighter side of the color spectrum of gowns tonight. The "GREY'S ANATOMY" star shows us that she can wear gowns as well as scrubs. Her simple and elegant look works, but nothing too wow about it.DEBI MAZUR of "ENTOURAGE" shows off her very pregnant self in her black gown. Her red lips work to accentuate her face and highlight her very fair skin. I'm not against red lipstick; just when it's on ANNE HATHAWAY'S face.

PENOLOPE CRUZ showed up in a flesh-colored gown that bores instead of excites. Her hair is also nothing too fantastic. I guess beautful people need a break now and then.[Pics: Yahoo!]
